How to Register to Vote

Voter Eligibility: Who Can Vote?

In order to vote in the Richmond Hill municipal elections, you must be:

• A Canadian citizen
• At least 18 years old on or before Voting Day (October 26, 2026)
• A resident of Richmond Hill, an owner or tenant of land in the City of Richmond Hill, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of land in Richmond Hill
• Not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, and any law

If you fit into the criteria above, make sure you are registered to vote. More information on how to vote will be released by the City Clerk closer to voting day.
